Key responsibilities of the position

As ExtraMile’s SEM Specialist, you’ll already have some marketing knowledge and an understanding of what SEM is, and why it is important in the context of an overall marketing strategy. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Work with the SEM team to create project plans in line with client objectives
  • Create content for clients and ExtraMile (such as blogs)
  • Develop an understanding of technical SEO with the view to regularly audit sites and diagnose technical issues
  • Attend regular client and design meetings to advise on SEO best practice
  • Support the SEM sales process
  • Use a range of software to generate insight and problem solve
  • To report of SEM results
  • Keep up to date with the most recent developments in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and share knowledge with wider team
  • Work closely with the SEM Manager to develop ExtraMile’s SEM offering and take it to the next level

Person specification



  • 1+ years experience in a marketing role


  • Any digital marketing related training



  • Experience using Content Management Systems (CMSs) such as WordPress


  • Experience auditing websites, presenting findings, and actioning recommendations to lead to SEO benefits
  • Agency experience
  • Experience using a range of SEO software such as Screaming Frog and SEMrush
