I'm now in my third month as Business Coordinator at ExtraMile, and thoroughly enjoying my time here!

I was with my previous company for nine years so starting a new job felt pretty daunting but I knew it was something I wanted to do. I needed a new challenge.

As with any fresh start it's about overcoming obstacles and the main obstacle that I faced in my first couple of weeks at ExtraMile was going from my beloved, familiar Windows PC at my old job to a brand new, shiny MacBook Pro.

My first thought was "Wow, now I can join in with those trendy Mac Instagram photos I see bloggers post so often. Surely using this can't be so different from using a Windows PC?"

Our Technical Director Nick gave me an hours induction on the basics of how to use a Mac in my first week here and I felt like a fish out of water. Everything seemed like it was on the wrong side of the screen, the buttons don't work the same way I'm used to and don't even get me started on the scroll working the opposite way. I refused to use the scroll on my mouse for at least my first month as it just used to frustrate me to the point of almost throwing it through the window!

I persevered through the frustration and now 3 months on its official... I love my Mac! I can do all my work on it and it's perfect for storing all my photos on too, now everything is in one place. Having it is a real perk of the job.

Don't get me wrong there are still times when I get a bit lost and I'm still finding new functions and shortcuts every day, but one things for sure, once you go Mac you never go back.
