Peter Voss
ExtraMile's multilingual Account Manager
I'm in charge of the day-to-day management of the QA for a major client that prefers anonymity: liaising with their Interactive Production team and other agencies in the production and quality control of email marketing. In my 'spare time' I'm also Quality Manager in respect of our ISO accreditation, a Fire Marshall, a First-Aider, occasional bin monitor and barista.
I speak Finnish, Spanish, some French and at a push German. I have an eye for detail and an interest in European history and culture - which comes in useful for helping our clients to ensure that their messaging is culturally sensitive. I would like to improve my French and learn Hungarian and/or Turkish and see ExtraMile expand its international and multilingual email marketing services.
I was born, raised and partly educated in Stafford, studied geography and geology at Nottingham University and Turun Yliopisto in Finland. I worked in communications and customer liaison, before having a go at teaching Geography, eventually moving back into a communications role here at ExtraMile.
In my free time I like to travel, ski, study medieval history, experiment at cooking and dance salsa. I have travelled fairly extensively in Europe and New Zealand - so I just need to fill in the bits in between, starting at the Australia end! Likes - business class travel, NZ Sauvignon Blanc, medieval architecture and 'world' music. Dislikes - the cost of business class travel and bananas.
One thing I'd like to do before I die is to go to Timbuktu (and come back again).
My perfect day off would be a flying visit to Barcelona: meet up with friends, a bit of shopping at la Boqueria, followed by a leisurely lunch at la Fonda. In the afternoon - wander round the Barrí Gotic, tapas in the Born, a suitably medieval concert in Santa Maria del Mar and all finished off with a modern Catalan cuisine extravaganza at comerç, 24 - now where did I put that lottery ticket?
