James Roberts
ExtraMile's (Baldy) Sales & Marketing Executive
My role is to be the initial face of ExtraMile Communications, working to bring in fresh business contacts, whose organisation could benefit from our services and who want help to grow their company. I bring years of experience in sales and customer service which has been spent in many different roles, from working overseas as a holiday rep and manager (it’s a hard life but someone’s got to do it) to Financial Recruitment. I have the ability to think outside the box and continually strive to achieve goals and targets. I have joined ExtraMile at a very exciting time where the possibilities for growth are outstanding and I hope to be an integral part of that happening.
I love snowboarding, having worked several winter seasons in ski resorts. I’m not too bad at it either. I love most sports and have a keen interest in football, enjoying nothing more than a night in with Match of the Day on the box (that is, when I’m allowed to have football on instead of X Factor.) I like most things and don’t have many dislikes, but for some strange reason I have a strong dislike for Barney the Dinosaur. Now I’m not quite sure what it is exactly. Maybe it’s because you don’t know who’s in the costume or it’s because he is purple and has massive teeth or maybe it’s because he’s always strangely chirpy and sings very annoying songs, but I would imagine it’s a combination of all the above. What I do know is, he would be the last person I’d ever invite round for dinner.
Before I kick the eternal bucket I would love to have won the world poker series and spent my winnings travelling around the world. A man can dream can’t he? If I had to describe my perfect day off, it would start off with being woken up by my partner Laura, with a full English breakfast. Then it’s off to the Britannia to watch Stoke win their last home game of the season to clinch the Premier League title, finishing off with a fantastic meal with more great friends.
