What FireSafety International needed

FireSafety International is a Stoke-based organisation that has engineers across the UK. They are the exclusive distributor of one of the largest brands in their industry. The site needed to have integration with twitter and also a client area, so that FireSafety International’s clients would have easy access to any manuals or diagrams related to their fire safety installation.

What ExtraMile proposed

We outlined the navigation for the site and explained the best way to integrate twitter with the design. We advised that a news slideshow on the homepage would allow FireSafety International to highlight specific areas of expertise on the homepage without adding bulky content. We also suggested that the client area be split into two sections: a client specific area that only the client could see and then an ‘all clients’ area that would allow Fire Safety to share information with all clients.

How ExtraMile implemented the solution

The FireSafety International website makes used of CSS3 to add extra design features to the site and is built in a content management system. To reduce the navigational structure and to stop pages being too long we added tabbed content areas on most pages which allow users to navigate quickly and easily to their area of interest. Full training was provided to FireSafety International staff on how to use the system.

The effect on FireSafety International’s business

When the new site went live FireSafety International received a lot of great feedback from clients and twitter users. The client area has been a great success - clients love being able to download technical data and service reports when they want. Their new website cements their reputation of professional service with quality products.
