What Donna Louise Children's Hospice needed

Donna Louise Children's Hospice is a charity very close to ExtraMile's heart. We regularly donate to them and our MD, Gabrielle Hadley, is climbing Kilimanjaro in September 2012 to benefit the charity - you can read her blog here. They provide a range of specialist care for children whose life expectancy is short, and support for their families in North Staffordshire. They needed a fully managed email service to send out newsletters about upcoming events and how the charity is growing, with the intention of spreading the word, increasing membership and obtaining more donations.

What ExtraMile proposed

We proposed a series of templates to address the different areas of activity: corporate, fund-raising and events.  These were also split into newsletter and e-shot format.

How ExtraMile implemented the solution

We designed the templates based on the current Donna Louise Trust branding and put together an e-shot that was simple but with explicit calls to action, so that people would be directed to the website. We know that as soon as people click on links, they are already interested in what the Donna Louise Trust do and frequently donate or attend an event.

The effect on Donna Louise Trust

Levels of engagement in activity at the hospice have risen, as subscribers for the email keeping going up - with more people are attending events, as well as donating more.
